What this is
S.O.S. CEO (Smart or Stupid CEO) is a browser-based business strategy simulation offered as a closed Early Access beta at smartorstupidceo.com. These pages describe how this product handles information today, not a larger company group or services that do not exist yet.
What we collect
When you create an account, we store the email address you provide and a password hash. We also store gameplay and career data tied to that account: companies, career progress, decisions, entitlements such as Early Access, and related simulation state. If you send feedback or a problem report from the product, we store that message together with the account and, when available, the career, company week, and page you sent it from, so the beta can be improved and problems investigated. We do not ask for payment details because this beta has no payments.
Passwords
Passwords are stored only as one-way secure hashes. We cannot read your password, and we never store it as readable text.
Necessary cookies
The site uses strictly necessary first-party cookies. ceo_sid keeps you signed in, remembers language, and protects forms. On the Early Access pages, sos_ea_first stores first-touch campaign fields (source, medium, campaign, content, term, and referral code) for 90 days so a later signup can keep the first visit’s attribution. These cookies are not sold and are not themselves an advertising profile.
Analytics and advertising measurement
The Early Access pages may load Google Tag Manager. If you allow it, that container can run Google Analytics and, later, Google advertising measurement. Those tools are not installed as direct tags in the page source; they run only through the Tag Manager container and only according to your cookie choice. Necessary cookies stay on. Analytics and advertising start denied until you accept them or save a choice. You can reopen Cookie Settings on the Early Access page at any time. Gameplay and Owner screens are not part of this measurement setup. Early Access email signup consent is separate from cookie choice: you can reject analytics cookies and still join the waitlist.
Technical logs
The server may write error and security logs (for example failed requests or application errors) so the operator can keep the beta running. Those logs stay on the server. They are not shown in the public site and there is no in-product log browser.
Why we use this information
We use this information to operate the game: create and authenticate accounts, attach careers to the right player, grant Early Access during this closed beta, prevent abuse, and fix problems. We do not sell personal data. On Early Access pages, and only if you allow Analytics or Advertising cookies, Google Tag Manager may load Google measurement tools so we can see whether the waitlist page is used and, when advertising measurement is later switched on inside Tag Manager, whether a campaign led to a new waitlist registration. That is not a gameplay tracker and it is not active against a denied cookie choice.
Early Access / closed beta
This is a closed beta. During Early Access, new accounts may receive game access automatically. That is a product entitlement, not permission to send marketing email. This beta does not send live email.
Fonts
The site serves its required fonts from this application. The browser does not contact Google Fonts or other third-party font hosts to display these pages.
How long we keep data
Account and career data are kept while they are needed to run this beta. There is no automatic account-deletion button. If the beta requires a technical correction or reset, some progress may need to be changed or removed. When you ask us to delete an account, we handle that request manually.
Your requests
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the account information we hold by contacting us. We do not provide an automated privacy portal, data-export download, or self-serve deletion screen in this beta. We will not pretend those tools exist.

Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the beta changes. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the service after an update means the current version applies.
